Just a little update

Neither Amelia or I are that great at keeping up on even our own journals, let alone a blogspot thingy.
But just to catch everyone up:
Amelia is going to be graduating in December of 2010 after five long and hard years of work with her English teaching major and music minor. YAY! Currently she is employed at BYU, working the ever exciting, fast paced world of refilling vending machines!
As for me, I am still at UVU, and trying for an associate’s degree before I enter the Police Academy here. After three majors and over four years of school, I will be going back and being a cop like I wanted to when I was a freshman in college.
Some great news:
While Amelia’s family was visiting us from Michigan back in August, we moved apartments! We also got to all go to the temple together, which was really great.
More recently, we have found out that my parents, who we have not seen since they saw us off at the airport back in June of 2008, will be joining us this Christmas in Utah! We are really excited to see my family again.
That’s the update!
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Wow...1am...

So, it is 1am Sunday morning, and yes, I (Remick) and still up. I have been having a hard time sleeping the last few weeks. This is almost funny, as Amelia has a hard to waking up. We should meet in the middle.

Well, Amelia got her hair cut and dyed again, and it looks really great. Hey Amelia, you should posts some pics of your new hair. I on the other hand am searching for a way to convince my hair not to leave me.

We went on a little date Friday, and saw Twilight at the dollar theatre. Though I have not (and will not ever) read the books, I thought that the case and even the director did a good job of making a good movie. Especially for a budget of under 1million.

Amelia and I got our tax returns, and that has given us a sigh of releif. We aren't sure why, but something just keeps telling us not to spend it, so we put it all in our savings account. Hopefully, our instincts will prove wrong.

I am missing being vegitarian a bit, and Amelia is feeling our poverty diet is not great for us. So, today when we went shopping, we put down the 99 cent sodas, and got some red plums and fresh necterines. Yummy.

Well....I need to try to sleep again. Have church in the morning.

Pout Time!

So here is my time to pout that Mr. Underwood, student of a public university, is on Spring Break at the moment. I, Mrs. Underwood, student of a private university, do not have such a luxury. Many try to make the claim that it's okay because I will be getting out of school before him. Such is not the case. In fact, he will also be getting out before me. Others claim that that means I am getting more of a quality education. That is also false. How can I be learning more when my brain is slowly rotting from stress? Plus, I have to have the unfortunate opportunity of attending school over this summer also. No breaks! Sigh...such is the life of an overworked BYU student.

A Friday Night

Hey Friends and Family!

Hope you are all doing well!

So here is the lowdown (This is Rem, so turn of your spellcheck.)

So Amelia has really bad allergies at the moment, making teaching flute, singing in choir, and praticing her own flute, very tricky at the moment. By the way, for almost never praticing, Amelia is freakin amazing at guitar. But isn't she at everything?
She is currently reading a book called "Ophelia," Lisa Klein. It is about Ophelia's story in Hamlet, and references the play alot. It also tends to aggree with Amelia's huge research paper that she wrote last semester.

I am currently taking a break form racking my brain with papers, exams, and work. I don't think I have slept for more than six hours any night since the 7th of Janurary. If this is what being an adult is like, I don't wanna! *pouts* LoL. Just kidding. Being a grown up will be fun someday. Buy I love my classes, even if I am unsure about how to finalize my education in the fields of law, history, economics, political sciences, and philosephy...somewhere they need to overlap into the "Rem Degree."

So there you have it. Amelia's turn.

Academic Crisis

So, both Rem and I are having academic crisises (is that even a word?). I'm not so sure I want to teach English at the secondary education level...I'm being pushed more and more towards teaching at the college and university level. OH NO! That means even more school. I would have to get my Master's. I'm also becoming more interested in also getting an Editing minor in addition to my music minor. Rem is in the same boat--not sure if he wants to teach History at the secondary level. He's also becoming interested in Law Enforcement, which was his major before History, Graphic Design...and something else but I can't remember at the moment. I've been told by many of my teachers that I would excel in graduate school here, and we were always focused on Rem getting his Master's.

Why does growing up have to be so difficult?

In other aspects of our life, things are going great! School is still obviously taking over many things. I FINALLY got a calling as the Relief Society Pianist, and Rem is substituting alot in Primary, but has no official calling as of yet. We are doing good, learning to work together more and more each day. Oh, and we aren't sick anymore. I have a little bit of a remaining cough, but coughs always tend to stick around with me.

Hope you all are doing well!

Sick...

It's amazing how much we take good health for granted until we get sick.

Amazingly, the sick-prone husband of mine, is not the one sick. It's me! There's a respiratory viral infection floating its way around campus and I got it. Now I'm on Claritin and they gave me this LOVELY cough medicine with coedine in it. I slept like a log last night, it was beautiful.

I hope that the rest of you are in good health!

Admonition

So I got scolded because I haven't updated in a while. Truth be told, our Internet was not working for a really long time or was really sketchy about when it would decide to work or not. We finally took pictures of our apartment! I don't know how to flip pictures here...and I don't have time to go do it in another program right now, so have fun tilting your head for some of them!
